They produce a wide range of English wines including white, rosé, red and traditional-method sparkling wine. They offer friendly informal vineyard tours & wine tastings every weekend, all year round with Nico Centonze, Stanlake Park’s skillful Italian winemaker. Most importantly, the tour includes the tasting of 6 delicious homemade wines! It’s a unique opportunity to witness a working vineyard in action.

Wellington Country Park – 20-minute drive

If you’d like to escape bustling city life, get back to nature with a day trip to Wellington Country Park. The park in Hampshire, just 20-minutes from our corporate apartments in Reading is a gigantic 350 acres of woodlands, nature trails, green space and a gorgeous lake. It was opened in 1974 by the 8th Duke and Duchess of Wellington and is free to enter and enjoy for everyone. The well-manicured park has plenty of family-friendly attractions like a train, a splash zone, an animal farm and they offer educational and fun workshops for children up to 8-years old. It’s a fun day out for families, couples and individual visitors.

Beale Park – 25-minute drive

Another great day out for everyone taking in plenty of fresh air and exercise is a trip to Beale Park. This exciting outdoor wildlife park set against the River Thames in Berkshire is home to an exciting mix of animals and attractions. It will take you a full day to explore the collections of small exotic animals, farm animals & birds, landscaped gardens & woodlands and children’s play areas. They have an excellent event schedule to coordinate your visit with and if you don’t fancy lunch in the Peacock Restaurant, you can bring a packed lunch and enjoy it at the picnic area. Some of the attractions on the castles 13-acre estate include the magnificent State Apartments furnished with treasures from the Royal Collection, St George’s Chapel (one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings in England and the burial place of 10 former monarchs) and the Semi-State Rooms. If you time your visit well, you’ll get to witness one of the most renowned events here – the changing of the guard. Its an ideal day out for those fascinated or mystified by the Royal Family, their history and their residence.
