We have space, facilities and comfort within our serviced apartments in Dublin, but these only go so far without a warm welcome from our friendly and efficient teams. Each team member contributes to the smooth running and the unique atmosphere within PREMIER SUITES, something noticed by each guest who stays here. We recognise our best and brightest at the annual PREM Ovation Awards and we were delighted that our Duty Manager, Monica Dunne was recognised as Best Leader this year. While we would love to individually recognise each team member for their hard work and dedication, we’re here to celebrate the brilliant Monica for her outstanding leadership within our Team.
PREM Ovation Awards
PREM Group is the parent company that manages all of the PREMIER SUITES properties in Ireland, as well as multiple other hotels around Ireland, the UK and Continental Europe. PREM Hospitality represents and manages a portfolio of 30 properties in Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium. In Ireland, there are 10 properties eligible to take part in the PREM Ovation awards, including three PREMIER SUITES locations in Dublin. The company employs over 100 people in Ireland, and everyone was eligible to be nominated for an award.
The PREM Ovation Awards is an annual event that highlights and celebrates the many successes within the business over the last 12 months and recognises the contribution of teams and individuals across PREM Group businesses in Ireland. Along with our existing awards of Property Special Recognition Award, Leader of the Year Award, PREM Ethos Award, Team of the Year Award, Central Office Support Champion, General Manager of the Year, and Property of the Year, This year we introduced the new ‘Team Player of the Year’ award, to acknowledge colleagues who strongly exhibit our company traits and values in their roles.
PREMIER SUITES Leeson Street – Leader of the Year
We’re delighted to recognise our Leader of the Year in PREMIER SUITES, Monica Dunne. Monica has been working with the company since 1996 and is an integral part of our team overall and day-to-day. Her role as Duty Manager involves leadership, guidance, skill and kindness – qualities that Monica exemplifies. Monica was awarded the Leadership Award at the PREM Ovation Awards in May in the Osprey Hotel where 100 of our colleagues from the properties and our central office in Dublin came together to celebrate and enjoy a delicious lunch together. Monica had previously won Prestigious Employee of the Year at PREMIER SUITES Dublin in 2023.

What led you to pursue a career in hospitality?
I sort of got into it by mistake, I needed a job and saw a job as a part-time accommodation assistant advertised so applied.

No two days are the same, you meet lots of different people both guests and colleagues.
Congratulations on recently winning the Leadership award at the PREM Ovation Awards and the Employee of the Year award at PREMIER SUITES Dublin Leeson Street in 2023, can you share what these recognitions mean to you?
Both were a surprise it is nice to be recognised by the people you work with daily.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career in hospitality?
Success in the hospitality industry, especially for those starting in entry-level positions, involves a combination of skills, attitudes, and hard work, so be adaptable and flexible.
