Weekend Stay In Bath & Bristol

If you’ve never been to Bristol, Winter is a great time to visit. With so many exciting things to do in Bristol, the city is often busy with long queues and little availability in Summer. In Winter, all of the sights are just as beautiful, there is plenty to see and do, there is little wait time and of course, the added festivities of Christmas and New Year’s. While you’re in Bristol, take a day trip to the beautiful city of Bath, a heritage city best known for its Roman-built baths and historical architecture. There are Christmas attractions in both cities, and both are fantastic places to spend a day or two. Book accommodation in PREMIER SUITES Bristol and enjoy the best of both cities from comfortable, flexible serviced apartments.

Spend the day in Bristol

Bristol is better known for its nightlife and big city activities, while Bath is more popular for its museums, historical sights and small-town charm. Bristol is a fantastic destination for a weekend break for all types of travellers from family-friendly trips to romantic breaks for two. It’s a student town that’s very walkable with the buzz of a major city without the expense. Main attractions include the Clifden Suspension Bridge, the excellent Bristol Art Gallery and Museum, on-street Banksy murals, Bristol Zoo and a truly magnificent dining scene.

Not only is it an exciting city with plenty to see and do – it’s also the perfect base to discover the beautiful southwest of England. The distance between Bristol and Bath is around 12 miles, 13.4 miles by road. It’s roughly a 30-minute drive between Bristol & Bath or you can hop on the GWR train that will take you between the two in just over 10 minutes – it’s a no-brainer!

Spend the day in Bath

Bath is more touristy than Bristol and is known for its world-renowned Roman-built baths as well as its historical architecture and many museums. The historic city centre is the perfect place to base yourself if you want to be close to all the major attractions, such as the Roman baths, museums, spas, shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, and clubs. Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with some brilliant examples of 18th-century architecture and town planning. There are a wealth of well-preserved Roman remains such as temples and baths and its very own hot springs which is said to have healing powers. There are dozens of pretty tea rooms and cafes for a lovely lunch stop too.
