One Day In Dublin City Centre

Although Dublin isn’t a large city in the grand scheme of things, we are lucky that almost every inch of it is filled with culture, history and beauty. We have put together a list of what we recommend you do to make the most out of your day while staying with us on the south side of Dublin’s bustling city centre.

Breakfast

Start your day off right with a hearty breakfast from Metro Café. Open since 1996 Metro have perfected their menu to reflect exactly what Dubliners and tourists would like for the ideal leisurely breakfast. They serve an all-day brunch and their breakfast buttie is a great start to the day.

Being A Tourist

There is so much to do in Dublin that we had a tough time choosing our favourite. While you are on this side of town, you have to take a stroll through the grounds of the famous Trinity College. Recognised for academic excellence, a movie-scene worthy library and of course the world famous Book of Kells, Trinity is definitely one not to be passed.

Take a short stroll across the bridge and into the always busy Temple Bar area. This area is well known for live Irish music and a busy pub scene but it has a real hidden gem, The Irish Rock and Roll Museum. With memorabilia from U2 to Thin Lizzy, any music fan will be in their element walking in the footsteps of these heroes.

Lunch

Easily one of the best cafes in Dublin, The Queen of Tarts café in Temple bar is a great place to stop and refuel. A homely and welcoming atmosphere awaits you and the best homemade soup and cakes you will get in the city. With a selection of sweets and savoury dishes, you will find it hard to tear yourself away.

Shopping

You will have already heard about Dublin’s iconic Grafton Street if you’ve done any research about the city. With a great variety of high-end cafes, retail and world-class buskers performing up and down the street it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to experience it for yourself. It even claims to be the launch pad for Bono’s career and he still visits every Christmas Eve to play for charity.

Dinner

Platform 61 is one of Dublin’s best-kept secrets. Located on South William Street, 10 minutes from our front door, the restaurant is inspired by a secret subway platform under the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Their menu is simple yet tasteful and they have an impressive vegan menu.

Stay with us in PREMIER SUITES PLUS Leeson Street to be right in the middle of the action and to avail of our special offers.
