The cosy & inviting café offers a home-cooked breakfast, catering for veggies and carnivores alike. They offer a wide selection from a full-English to a more continental-style to suit your taste. Their large rustic, farmhouse style tables are usually shared by fellow diners, so not ideal for a romantic meal but great for a group brunch. All of the gorgeous cakes are baked in-house daily and you’ll often get them warm straight from the oven. They also get very busy on weekend afternoons, but their friendly staff will accommodate you as soon as possible, and it’s worth the wait!

 

4. Chiquito – 10-minute walk

An alternative to a traditional Newcastle breakfast next, heading straight to Mexico. Chiquito have a huge breakfast menu, ranging from sweet treats like build-your-own pancakes to a more authentic feast. Try their eggs bravos, a mix of sautéed potatoes tossed with home-made salsa, topped with refried beans, guacamole and two poached eggs with a sprig of fresh coriander sitting on top – absolutely delicious. If you want to treat yourself, enjoy one of their freshly made smoothies or spice things up with a Mimosa or Tequila Sunrise cocktail.
