We are delighted to welcome back Birmingham Pride on 24th & 25th September 2022 in a brand new location. Smithfield Live, a literal stone’s throw from our accommodation in Birmingham is the place to be for this year’s most colourful celebration.
Smithfield
We’re excited to have the new location for Birmingham Pride so close to our serviced apartments in Birmingham. Smithfield is also just metres from Birmingham’s LGBTQ+ village that will play host to the biggest ever Main Stage, the Conrad Guest Cabaret Stage and the fantastically fun Dance Arena where we expect to see attendees enjoying themselves until the wee hours. They’re also adding additional seating areas, community stalls, a street food market, additional toilet facilities and so much more. Smithfield is set across 12 acres which will accommodate over 20,000 attendees over this spectacular weekend, ensuring a great experience for all.
Pride Parade
The Birmingham Pride Parade is one of the most important parts of the whole festival weekend. The parade is enjoyed by tens of thousands of participants, walking, marching or aboard fantastic floats, and viewed by more than 75,000 spectators lining the streets of Birmingham. The parade is more than a chance to sing & dance – it’s all about equality and justice, after all, there is no pride without protest. The Pride Parade is free for all to attend. It starts at Centenary Square in the heart of the city centre from 11am on Saturday and makes its way through the city to the LGBTQ+ village, right beside Smithfield.
The Line-Up
This year promises to be bigger, better and gayer than ever! The big free community event starts the festivities on Friday 23rd September. Taking place in Smithfield, the main pride site, the event has keynote speakers, Secret Symphony presents DIVA, excellent performances, live music, community stalls, food stalls, LGBTQ+ talent and a candlelit vigil. The most exciting act of all for 90s & 00s babies is the headline act, Steps. Steps play the Main Stage on Sunday and its sure to be a sell-out. Get your tickets for Pride from the official website or a reputable source so you’re not left Better Best Forgotten!
