When travelling for a longer term than usual, you need to make sure everything is in order at home. Have you asked a neighbour to take in your post, water your plants and check on your house every now and again? Would you leave your pet with a friend too? Luckily you don’t have to be separated anymore. If you are travelling for 28 days or more you can take them with you to PREMIER SUITES Glasgow!
Alternatives to travelling with your pet
The most obvious alternative is to leave your pet with a neighbour or friend. However, the change in scenery can be stressful and difficult to get used to for pets.
You could ask someone to pop in to feed and walk your pet as needed but this can be lonely for them as they are used to having constant company.
Another, more expensive option is to pay for board in a kennel or cattery. Unfortunately, pets often come home ill from kennels as they are not used to having contact with other animals.
 benefits of bringing your pet
- Save yourself and your little friend a lot of stress and separation anxiety by keeping them with you when you travel.
- You can ensure your pets are fed and walked as often as you like.
- Gives you the freedom to travel for longer periods without feeling guilty about leaving your pet at home.
- Save your pet the stress of staying in a kennel or cattery and save yourself the huge expense.
Walks in the area for you and your dog
Kelvingrove Park is one of the most popular parks in the city and is home to the famous Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. It is smaller than a national park but still has plenty of interest for both you and your dog. The park straddles the river Kelvin which is rich in wildlife and nature so if you’re lucky you could see kingfishers, red foxes and otters.
Only 20-minutes away from our front door is Glasgow Green, a perfect urban retreat for you both. There is plenty of green space here, 135 acres. Plenty of space for your dog to stretch his legs or to throw and catch tennis balls. West Beer Brewery is also in the park in case you need refreshments.
In case you don’t want to go far or get thirsty after a long walk, one of our neighbours, a pub called The Butterfly and The Pig is dog-friendly! Poodles and pugs are just as welcome as people and they’ll even give you a bowl of water to keep your furry friend happy.
