Belgium

We seem to see some light at the end of the tunnel. The vaccination rollout is speeding up and the with an R-ratio of 0.89 in Belgium, it seems we are getting more and more control over this pandemic.

Borders are open for travel coming from EU and EU nationals. For international arrivals, only professional travel is allowed into the country with restrictions in place.

Travelers are required to complete the Passenger Locator Form, in the 48 hours before arrival in Belgium. Based on the outcome of the form, you get a text message saying if you need to quarantine or not. Are you travelling from the United Kingdom, South Africa, South America or India? You will need to quarantine. Get tested on day 7 of quarantine.

Please visit the Belgian official website for up-to-date Covid-19 information and travel guidelines.

Ireland

Ireland has been at Level 5, the highest level of Irish restrictions, since Christmas. However, on the back of falling case numbers and the continued vaccination roll-out, the country is ready for a phased reopening. All retail will reopen from 17 May. Hotels and leisure stays can recommence from 2 June and restaurants and pubs can open for outdoor dining from 7 June.

Irish borders remain open, however there are a number of short-term restrictions on international travel. All passengers arriving into Ireland are required to quarantine at home for 14 days, while a mandatory hotel quarantine is required for arrivals from 72 “category 2” countries. Vaccinated passengers are exempt from mandatory hotel quarantine.

In the meantime, our three PREMIER SUITES Dublin properties remain open for essential travel, regular business guests and relocations.

The R-ratio in the Netherlands is currently sitting at 1.05. Vaccination rollout is accelerating at a high speed. Borders are open for travel coming from EU and EU nationals. International travel is allowed for professional purposes or travellers coming from a safe country. There is also a ban on passenger flights from India, South Africa and countries in Central and South America. For anyone travelling by aircraft, ship, train or coach from a high-risk areas, a negative test result must be presented before departure. Self-quarantine is mandatory for 10 days when arriving in the Netherlands.

Scotland

From 17 May, Scotland will move to Level 2 and aiming for Level 1 on 7 June, bringing Scotland even closer to some resemblance of normality.

Non-essential travellers are permitted to enter Scotland from other parts of the UK and vice versa. International travel will be permitted from 17 May.

Ten day self-isolation is necessary if you show any symptoms, test positive or have been in contact with anyone who has Covid-19.

Gyms and swimming pools are open to individual exercise for well-being, but no group classes are allowed at present. Takeaway services have resumed normal service, meaning you can now enter the premises to collect your takeaway
Bars & Restaurants now open, some restrictions still apply, mainly outdoor food and alcohol at the moment until 10.00pm.

United Kingdom

We understand many guests have been unable to travel and because of this, some may feel nervous when the time comes to pack that case, however, rest assured that our self-contained serviced apartments offer the perfect homely environment to reduce social interaction and feel truly safe and looked after whilst staying away from home.

From  17 May, when the UK opens up for leisure travel, we hope to see the hospitality industry grow from strength to strength and we here at PREMIER SUITES are more than ready to actively play our part in what we hope will be a fast and exciting resurgence.

PREMIER SUITES offer a range of assistance to guests who may need to quarantine, with special relocation packages and help with shopping, deliveries and sharing all relevant current Government information – we are here to help make your isolation and quarantine time as stress free and comfortable as possible.

There are some jobs that qualify for travel exemptions. Passengers travelling for work purposes can check on the UK/Scottish Government website to see if their job is on the list and are exempt from quarantine rules.

UK government legislation states that visitors coming from (or have passed through in the previous 10 days) any red list travel ban county, are currently not allowed to enter the UK.

Visitors arriving into the UK from other countries must isolate for 10 days in the region where they enter the UK. Prior to departure these visitors must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test and complete a passenger locator form.

During the 10 day quarantine period, each visitor must provide two negative Covid-19 tests before they are able to continue with their journey.
