As an accommodation provider, we provide an essential service to our community. However, as a business, we understand the impact our business has on our environment. While there are some things we cannot change about the way we operate, there are many things that we can. PREMIER SUITES are committed to improving our operations to lessen our impact on the environment and protect the future of our planet for future generations. We have implemented real and measurable changes to the way we operate to reduce our carbon footprint and become a greener and more sustainable accommodation option in Bristol.
Green Tourism
We have recently recruited the expertise of an independent sustainability certification programme to rate our practices and give us insight into improving our scores. Green Tourism is dedicated to helping tourism businesses become more sustainable through expert advice. Through education and experience our team and management are improving our practices little by little, without impacting the quality of stay for our guests. Green Tourism guides important aspects of sustainability in business such as:
- Reducing energy use
Saving water - Efficient & eco-friendly waste disposal
- Ethical buying
- Staying local & seasonal
- Minimising food miles
- Promoting biodiversity
- Adopting a smart, sustainable outlook throughout the business.
What are we doing?
Our Building
The property housing PREMIER SUITES Bristol is fitted with double-glazed windows in all suites. This includes balcony doors and public areas. The heat is turned off in our corridors as default and switched on only when needed. Keys are used instead of plastic key cards to reduce the use of single-use plastic.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Our processes and procedures have changed. We operate in a more streamlined, sustainable way in our day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of our serviced apartments in Bristol. When planning work, our team forward plan to keep potential impacts on the environment such as noise, dust, smells or fumes to a minimum. All wastes produced within the building is disposed of responsibly. All lights and appliances are switched off when an apartment is vacant. Our cleaning products are environmentally friendly as much as possible.
Our Team
We believe that knowledge of environmental issues is an important part of the process of effective environmental management. Therefore, it is our objective to provide suitable information and training to our employees to ensure they are able to make informed decisions. Our sales manager has also attended green & sustainability webinars to further her knowledge to pass on to our team. Our processes are reviewed regularly to ensure we are improving.
Our Guests
We encourage guests to join us on this journey to Green by displaying initiatives on our website for guests to see. We also promote our efforts on social media. Guests are encouraged to make small changes, like switching off appliances, turning off taps and shopping locally, which will make a big difference to their carbon footprint.
Our Suppliers
We only buy supplies from responsible and sustainable suppliers, ideally within the UK to reduce air miles. We encourage our guests to shop locally, eat in-season and support small businesses on their visits to Bristol. After all, we have some of the finest produce and most creative minds right here in the UK.
Growing our Own
Our Homegrown Greens initiative provides guests and staff with organic, freshly grown herbs right here in our planters. We grow vegetables and herbs as often as we can and encourage our guests to help themselves when cooking in their in-suite kitchens. We love showing off our pretty planters so take a visit during your stay.
Operations
We’ve made small changes to our everyday operations that when combined make a big impact. We’re replaced single-use toiletries with dispensers saving thousands of plastic bottles from going to landfill. We send invoices via email and offer online payments to reduce paper waste. QR codes are used to communicate information to guests, saving paper signage production. There are food bins in all apartments and our team sorts and recycles waste at every opportunity. We’re always adding to the list.
We’re always looking for ways to improve our sustainability scores and would love to hear from our guests if you have any suggestions. Book a stay in our Bristol serviced apartment accommodation today to see witness our sustainability efforts for yourself.
