Breakfast
If you’re looking for a traditional bite to eat in the morning, a great option is Hatch and Sons. This cozy café is a self-proclaimed no-fuss eatery that serves really delicious food all day long. They have the healthy option of porridge, fruit, and toast or the slightly bolder sausages, eggs and bacon and all at a very reasonable price.
Another good breakfast option in the area that won’t leave you out of pocket is Peacock Green, just two minutes’ walk from PREMIER SUITES PLUS Dublin Leeson street. They have a great variety of breakfast offerings with everything from a hearty porridge to a filling full Irish to set you up for the day. Best of all they have a fantastic tea selection and their coffee is second to none.
Lunch
Less than 5-minutes walking from Leeson St is The Station Building which has a great selection of lunch spots, all of which are fairly reasonably priced. You can choose from Burritos in Zambrero, gourmet salad from Cocu or a whole host of deli favorites from Morton’s. If you’re lucky enough to be staying on a Thursday, there is an outdoor food market in the complex with a great selection of stalls serving everything from Brazilian BBQ to Spanish Paella.
Another great open-air market, which is a fixture for half of the year, is Eatyard. Connected to the Bernard Shaw pub, famed for its character and big blue bus in the garden, the market opens between Thursday to Sunday at 12 pm and stays open until 10 pm. You can enjoy a range of food types like burgers, Arepas, vegan fish (Vish) flatbreads, all washed down with a beer and an ice cream from the Milk Bar.Â
If outdoor markets aren’t your cup of tea, head down to Camden street where you’ll find a huge range of international cuisine. Green19 is a fantastic lunch spot and although its almost always busy, the staff will try their best to accommodate you. They have a great sandwich menu and use really high-quality ingredients throughout the menu. It costs roughly €10 for a sandwich of your choice served with the most delicious home-cooked chips.
DinnerÂ
If you’re looking for pub grub, we are close to a great gastropub that has a really home-style pub food menu. DTWO has a great lunch menu but in the evening, they specialise in BBQ food. Their great value Backyard BBQ is just €15 per person and contains a burger & chicken skewer of choice along with all the salad you can eat. Their A la Carte menu is also great value and the food is always delicious.
If it’s Asian food you’re after, it doesn’t get any better than Neon Restaurant. They offer a selection of traditional Asian street food like noodles, curry and rice dishes, all cooked to order. Their flavor combinations are unique and really bring out the delicious quality ingredients they use. Most of the main course dishes are under €12 and you get a free ice cream at the end!
If you’re looking for fine dining without the huge price tag, Fire Restaurant has a great Early Bird specials available every day until 6/6.30pm. Fire certainly isn’t a restaurant known for cheap eats but sometimes it’s nice to treat yourself, even when you’re on a budget. The surroundings alone make it worth the visit.
