Panto has been a tradition in the UK since 1814 and has been a way for families and friends to create great memories ever since. Cinderella in Theatre Royal
From Tue 29 Nov 2022 – Sun 15 Jan 2023 on the main stage of Theatre Royal, we’re looking forward to performances of Cinderella, the ultimate fairytale. The panto tells the story of Cinderella, a young girl, mistreated by her stepmother and step-sisters, who finds out that dreams really can come true when she meets a handsome price at a ball. Danny Adams leads the cast in this brand-new production of Cinderella with sets and costumes from the London Palladium. Panto favourites Clive Webb, Chris Hayward and the fantastic Joe McElderry join Danny on stage this year in this all-singing, all-dancing show with colourful sets and costumes really setting the scene. Newcastle Theatre Royal’s pantomime is widely regarded as one of the most successful Christmas shows in the country ensuring an impressive and memorable panto for all ages
Tickets for Cinderella
You can purchase tickets for this panto and any other shows in Theatre Royal directly from their box office or on their website. Tickets start from just £12.50 and prices vary by date, availability and seats. This is a traditional panto with plenty of loud music, flashes, bangs and a couple of scary moments. It may not be suitable for more sensitive children. It also contains strobe lighting, unsuitable for those with light aversion or photosensitive epilepsy. There are afternoon and evening performances on selected dates, and they have Babe in Arms tickets for just £2 with a full-price adult ticket. There are no bad seats in Theatre Royal and prices vary per section so choose using the handy map on their website.
Accessible and relaxed performances
This year, Theatre Royal are hosting more relaxed performances of the panto on Sun 11 Dec 2022 & Wed 11 Jan 2023. These performances allow for more noise and movement in the auditorium, ideal for restless children and adults. They allow for re-entry when needed and a special chillout spaces for those who need a quiet space away from the main stage. Many theatregoers find these performances more relaxing and enjoyable for lots of reasons. This might include families with young children, as well as customers with autism, a learning disability, dementia, anxiety or other medical condition which mean sitting or concentrating for long periods can be difficult. Lighting and special effects are altered, strobe and flash lighting are removed, and loud noises are dulled or omitted.
There is a BSL performance on 8th December and an audio and captioned performance on 13th December.
