We Glaswegians are passionate about many things; our high-quality local food, our proud Scottish heritage and of course the delicious Scotch Whiskey made here. Another thing we can’t get enough of is great quality coffee and quirky, independent Glasgow coffee shops. PREMIER SUITES serviced apartments Glasgow offer a Welcome pack including tea, coffee, milk, sugar, hot chocolate & biscuits but sometimes you just need an expertly roasted cup of coffee in a local café. Here are some of our favourites:
The Coffee Pod – 8 min walk
One of the closest places to get a really good cup of coffee and have a relaxing morning is The Coffee Pod. It holds an impressive 85 people in a comfortable setting, complete with soft couches and plenty of space between tables. They do a decent menu of homecooked food with plenty of vegetarian options. The coffee is delicious and there are plenty of alternative options like soy and chai; they even operate a BYOB policy if coffee isn’t your beverage of choice. Their free Wi-Fi will ensure you can stay connected even when you’re on the move.
Coffee, Chocolate and Tea – 12 min walk
These are a few of our favourite things! Just a 12-minute walk from PREMIER SUITES aparthotels Glasgow lies one of the best coffee shops in Glasgow. Not only do they have a great selection of freshly roasted coffee (roasted on-site) they also supply over 40 varieties of loose leaf tea. The food menu consists of home baking, sandwiches made daily from highest quality ingredients, homemade soups and most impressively homemade chocolate truffles made in-house. The CC&T team are so much fun and always on hand to give recommendations if needed.
Offshore – 15 min walk
A little further away but well worth the walk, Offshore is one of Glasgow’s more scenic cafes for your morning fix. The café has a relaxed, casual atmosphere and its floor to ceiling windows offer great views of the River Kelvin. It’s a favourite of students, not least because of its reasonable prices, spacious surrounds and chilled out vibes. They often host events like art exhibitions which are free to enter. The food menu offers a good variety of vegan and veggie offerings and best of all, the café is dog-friendly!
Artisan Roast – 18 mins walk
A blog about coffee shops in Glasgow wouldn’t be complete without a mention of Artisan Roast, a café dedicated to its craft. The honest to goodness coffee shop buys its beans directly from the growers and they roast in-house several times a week making sure we get the freshest cup every single time. This minimalist, no-frills manner ensures that the coffee does the talking and you can be sure you’re getting the best of the best every time. They have a fantastic selection of independent and unique coffees and if you can’t get enough while you’re here, you can sign up for their coffee subscription.
