A paradise for shopping
Rotterdam is a true paradise for shopaholics: you’ll find a huge range of stores! You can choose to take shelter of the rain in the many shops of the famous shopping streets Van Oldenbarneveltstraat and Coolsingel or you can choose to go shopping in an indoor mall. By the way, shopping mall Zuidplein is the largest indoor shopping mall in the Netherlands and therefore the perfect location to do some shopping and stay completely dry.
The Market Hall
The iconic market hall is a must do if you’ve never been to Rotterdam: it’s definitely the place to be for food lovers. Because this market is covered, it’s an excellent place to hide away when the weather is bad and enjoy the fresh dishes. You will find a variety of food stalls, shops and restaurants. Many of these stalls also have seats to relax. Don’t forget to look at the ceiling when entering the market hall because this place is impressive both indoors and outdoors!
Visit one of Rotterdam’s top museums
When you visit Rotterdam it is definitely worth visiting one of the museums. You will find a wide variety of museums and it is an excellent educational choice to do in the city. The Kunsthal Rotterdam offers several exhibitions a year of both old masters and contemporary artists. Also the Maritime Museum is a nice museum where you can find a lot of information about shipping. The Dutch Pinball Museum has received the certificate of excellence by visitors with 100 pinball machines from all generations.
