We are very excited about King Charles’ upcoming Coronation on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Westminster Abbey. King Charles Coronation
On Saturday 6th May 2023, King Charles is set to be crowned as the King of the United Kingdom in a celebration like no other. There are celebrations taking place around the world over this special weekend to mark the event. The historic moment will be followed by a Coronation Concert in Windsor Castle with performances from global music icons that will be televised all over the world by the BBC. People from across Britain will also take part in the Coronation Big Lunch the day after the ceremony, during which neighbours and communities are invited to share food and fun together. On Monday, 8th May 2023, members of the public will be invited to take part in The Big Help Out, which will encourage people to try volunteering in their local areas.
PREMIER SUITES Glasgow
Glasgow is embracing The Big Lunch and many neighbourhoods are hosting their own community events over the Coronation weekend. Glasgow’s Coronation Concert takes place in the spectacular surroundings of Glasgow City Chambers Banqueting Hall on Friday 5th May. The Kings Coronation and Victory in Europe Parade happen on Saturday 6th. The official Coronation Parade from George Square to Glasgow Cathedral is followed by a service on Sunday 7th.

Reading is set to host a variety of events for the newest bank holiday weekend. Reading’s biggest King’s Coronation celebration takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Reading Abbey Ruins. Bristol Cathedral are hosting a free live event called Sing for the King with 650 singers, to celebrate Bristol’s 650th birthday and the coronation of King Charles III.

Two days of community-focused events are planned for Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May in Centenary Square, in the heart of Birmingham city centre from 1pm to 9pm, each day. Expect acoustic musicians, choirs, live bands, cultural entertainment, street entertainers and more. The Coronation and the following concert is being shown on a big screen open to the public.

Liverpool has lots of small celebrations for this very special weekend with many local neighbourhoods hosting their own community events over the Coronation weekend. Pubs and venues will be showing the coronation and concert. Liverpool is also the home of this year’s Eurovision also taking place on this weekend.
