Sustainable Travel
Navigating Liverpool sustainably
Electrical Charging Points
Download the app, zapmap to find the nearest EV charging point to PREMIER SUITES Liverpool.
E-Sccoter Hire
Electric scooters are conveniently accessible within the city center and surrounding areas, including Toxteth, Dingle, and Kensington, offering convenient usage. Priced reasonably at 20 pence per minute, the service also offers unlimited daily and monthly passes for purchase. Furthermore, the scooters are conveniently stationed at city center hospitals, with National Health Service (NHS) staff eligible for a 50% discount.
Bike Hire
Liverpool’s bike scheme has recently been replaced by a new initiative created by Swedish company ‘Voi’, who are also the main provider of the e-scooters available in the city. The ise of these bikes is easily accessible to all; as unlike the e-scooters you do not need a provisional license and there is also no age requirement. They can also be picked up from various points around the city using the VOI app, again allowing for ease of travel in and around the city.
Running/Cycle Maps
The best places to run in Liverpool are along the city’s waterfront promenades, most notably the Royal Albert Dock, the Otterspool Promenade, Crosby Beach Coastal Park, and the Wirral Circular Trail. There are also some fantastic parks for running, including Rupert Lane Recreation Ground, Sefton Park, Newsham Park, Calderstones Park, and Rimrose Valley Country Park. For those who want to stick close to downtown and see the sites, Natterjack Running have outlined an exceptional 7km ‘Runseeing’ Tour. For a long run close to the city’s centre, the expansive Trans Pennine Trail is the best bet.
Bicycle trails are also extremely popular in the city centre, and some include riversides, canal trails, nature reserves as well as historic buildings; making cycling a great way to explore what Liverpool has to offer. Occupying a mostly flat coastal area, the vast expansion of cycle paths in the city also allows for a safer and more enjoyable journey around the city. There are a variety of routes for all abilities;
Water Taxis and Car Clubs
Liverpool has a convenient ferry terminal, hosting 50-minute educational river cruises. This cruise also docks at the Birkenhead and Seacombe docks, meaning it can be used as a method of transport across to the Wirral.
Low emission transport options
The Liverpool city region are envisioning the whole bus network to move across towards zero emissions. They also work collaboratively with the Local Low Carbon Accelerator (LLCA) to speed up this process and to move towards becoming net zero. The aim is to replace 1200 mainly diesel buses with zero emission replacements over the next 15 years. The Council’s September Cabinet also introduced “Green bus routes” and “Green corridors”, aimed at encouraging residents to walk, cycle and use public transport more often.
Our Building
Home away from home
Our property includes double glazed windows in all rooms, all seals are checked by maintenance on a monthly basis.
Community Work
Working together
We are a part of the Go Green committee in Liverpool city centre and attend monthly meetings to keep up to date. We have a plan in place to get more involved with community work.
Charity Events
Get involved
We support “Beyond the Moon”, an organisation that looks after family holidays for families that have (terminally) ill children or a child with physical disabilities. Their situation often implies that they need extra care during a vacation which often is very expensive. Beyond the moon raises funds to support those families.
We love getting involved in a good cause, so we worked together to help raise funds for Ukraine and donated £680 to the red cross go fund me page.
