Three Days in Newcastle
Day One
Drop your bags off and find your feet before you embark on your weekend in Newcastle by checking in with us at PREMIER SUITES. Start your first day getting to know the city, by visiting the Great North Museum. The award winning museum is an ideal family day as its free to enter and open daily for visitors who want to explore centuries of history. The Mouse House, near the entrance of the Museum, is especially for Under 5s and there are regular activities for younger visitors in this space. Also on the ground floor is Fossil Stories, which uses fossils show major changes to the landscape and the animals and plants that were around millions of years ago. It also features a T. rex replica skeleton. On the first floor of the Museum visitors can discover the world of the Ancient Egyptians – including two mummies – and marvel at important collections of Greek and Etruscan art and archaeology.  There is so much to-do and explore in this museum, to keep your little ones entertained and tired.
Head back to your serviced apartments at PREMIER SUITES Â Newcastle and cook up a storm in your full equipment kitchen, you can get some groceries and ingredients at one of the local convenience stores all within walking distance from our building. Fall into a deep slumber in our comfortable and luxurious bed as you rest up for Day two.
Day Two
No morning is ever complete without a strong cup of coffee, at PREMIER SUITES we are a three minute walk from the renowned Pink Lane Coffee. The coffee shop source all of their coffee with each country’s season in mind, and the coffee offered will likewise change in accordance with these seasons. By working closely with partner importers the team are able to source the best seasonal coffees available.
Start your day two just right with a visit to the Metro Centre. This shopping centre is Europe’s largest indoor mall-style shopping centres, a must visit for the shopaholics out there when travelling to Newcastle.
Explore over 300 popular high end street shops, designers and local businesses all within this one building. Fun fact, if you walk past every shop, you will have covered 3.5 miles – so really you are both exercising and shopping – multitasking at its finest.
After all that hard work of exercising, you must grab a bite to eat. At the Metro the building has over 50 restaurants and cafes such as Wagamama, Nando’s, Five Guys, Zizzi and Chiquito, plus brand-new local independent restaurant, Zucchini Pasta Bar.
That’s not all, inside the metro there is the CINEWORLD Cinema which has something to watch for all the family. Kick back in the comfy in the comfy recliners with your pix’n’mix and popcorn after a hard day of shopping – you deserve it!
Day Three
Make your last day as memorable as it can be by checking out of your apartment and leaving your suitcases with us as you embark on your last day.
Head to Jesmond Dene park, a unique haven of peace and tranquillity for the people of Newcastle. It is a narrow wooded valley that follows the river Ouseburn between South Gosforth and Jesmond Vale. This provides an important wildlife corridor right into the centre of Newcastle. There is a spectacular mix of native and exotic trees, and the Dene is home to a lot of wildlife, notably the Kingfisher, the Red Squirrel and many woodland birds.
Before you leave, pop into the Grainger Market. This indoor market, you will find the most gorgeous and unique gems to take home from your travels. With over 60 stalls selling everything from scented melts, vintage clothing, to retro games, and much more. Not forgetting, 17 different food stalls, offering everything from mouth-watering treats from around the world, to comforting British grub.
